Trainee Warehouse Operator – Cheadle, Staffordshire

The Trainee Warehouse Operator role will involve:

  • Picking: picking notes are picked, packed and despatched according to customer expectations which includes labelling, packaging, transportation times for arrival on time & accuracy in counts.

 

  • Receipting: all PO Receipts are booked in correctly on the system and goods stored accordingly once goods have been accounted for. .

 

  • General warehouse operations are carried out in a FIFO, 5S manner considering all aspects of H&S maintaining a safe and clean environment for all staff.

 

  • Carry out perpetual stock counting activities as required. This activity must be done using the ERP system (Emax) and all stock discrepancies reported to the supervisor or operations manager.

 

  • Complete regular rack consolidations which will leave space available for incoming goods.

 

  • All activity must be completed using the scanners (Emax system) correctly. This includes ensuring stock movements are recorded correctly and the correct parts are in the correct locations as stated on the system.

 

  • Any other duties as required from time to time by management.

Process Operative – Cheadle, Staffordshire Moorlands

RCM Recruitment is searching for a Process Operator to join a client, a manufacturing company based in Cheadle, Staffordshire Moorlands.

Based on the client site, the purpose of the role is to support the production process.

Duties will include:

-Manual handling

The successful applicant must have GCSE Maths and English. Our client are looking for a motivated and loyal employee who is eager to learn.

Ideally will live locally due to commuting issues to the area.

Hours of work are Monday – Thursday, 7.30am- 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am-1.30pm

Starting basic salary is £9.50 per hour (40 hours a week)

Due to continued growth, our client are looking for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join us.

JOB SUMMARY

As Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for all repair & distribution of parts reaching our client’s worldwide customer based within target timeframes.

You will lead and develop a high performing department, therefore should have detailed knowledge around shipping worldwide. You will be in charge of the effective day to day planning of the department’s processes, working closely with the Sales and Production departments to ensure on time delivery of product to customers.

You will be an expert in the field of shipping worldwide, importing and exporting by all means, including the shipping of dangerous goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role requires you to understand and be able to manage and oversee the following daily duties:

  1. Oversee incoming and outgoing deliveries
  2. Research, prepare and dispatch/export of Hazardous goods e.g. Batteries, canisters
  3. All export documentation certificates of conformance of sealed exports – Advise sales and customers on dispatches to Europe/ROW on HS codes and country of origin
  4. Ensure all documentation is completed in agreement with company and legislative requirements for both imports and exports and procedures are in place
  5. Responsible for the control of strategic goods / software and the goods from orders arising from End User concerns for exports from the UK facility
  6. Give customs clearance on imports
  7. Obtain and use SIEL and/or OGEL licenses where appropriate
  8. Submit applications and declarations using online systems such as CHIEF and SPIRE
  9. Apply for duty relief on goods imported and exported where possible
  10. Negotiate contracts with couriers/freight forwarders to ensure quickest, reliable delivery
  11. Build relationships with the local chambers, freight forwarders, couriers, customs, government agencies, internal and external customers, and other suppliers daily
  12. Provide guidance to the organisation as to the most suitable use of HM Revenue & Customs Authorisations to enable us to remain fully compliant to all HMRC regulations regarding import and export
  13. Implement and champion dangerous goods compliance standards within the organisation
  14. Train and develop of the department in invoicing, packing, dispatching, collections
  15. Coach our Compliance Officers on End-User checks and export licenses
  16. Work alongside colleagues in an open plan office supporting the ever-changing business requirements where shipping deadlines have to be met and the shipping team are working within compressed timescales.
  17. Maintain necessary supplies, cleanliness and orderly flow of shipping areas

EMPLOYEE EVALUATION SUMMARY

  • Introductory Review – Will be written at approximately 80 days after employment start or position change and will be used to determine whether employment will continue
  • Monthly reviews – Employee will be given a brief written monthly review primarily focused on quantitative performance and measurement of activity.
  • Annual Reviews – Monthly reviews will factor in as a big part of this process along with attendance, job knowledge, overall performance and dependability.

Customs Compliance Officer

Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 hour lunch break)

Starting salary £24-25,000

With the full support from the supervisor and management team, the Customs Compliance Officer will be responsible for the smooth handling of shipments transiting from and to our UK facility. It is a varied role where the successful candidate will be working closely with internal and external parties alike on a daily basis to enable us to provide a first class service for our customers.

This position is responsible for overseeing and completing the efficient day-to-day operations associated with the importing of goods/exporting of goods to and from Radwell –UK. Based in a workshop environment, you will act as an ambassador for the company and enjoy educating team members in the changes 2021 has brought in relation to imports and exports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be involved in procedural management surrounding the import and export of all orders complying with UK export controls. The role therefore will involve working closely with the sales staff to determine company checks and parts checks in accordance with HMRC.

The role also involves the following:

  • End-User checks and OGEL/SIEL licenses on exports submitted to the SPIRE system
  • Arrange collections of Repairs/Warranty Returns/Distribution Purchases/Surplus Purchases
  • Research, preparation, and dispatch/export of Hazardous goods (Air/Road)
  • Produce manual commercial invoices for export shipments in scenarios where the system is unable to create one
  • Provide customs clearance on imports into Radwell UK
  • Provide manual commercial invoices for Surplus Purchases from International private vendors
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, customs, government agencies, internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Advise sales and customers on dispatches to Europe/ROW on HS codes and country of origin requests
  • Chambers documentation completed wherever required
  • Monthly Intrastat reporting

 

Required Skills

Dangerous Goods training + certificate Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA) + Road (ADR) (essential)

Up to date knowledge of customs legislation and practices (essential)

Pre-Evaluation Technician

Starting from £9.50 p/h (£19,800 p/a), adjustable based on applicant experience.

Primary duties of this position are to evaluate all incoming electronic items for repair. Included in these will be units previously repaired which have been returned for warranty consideration. Duties will include but not limited to the verification of part numbers and quantities of incoming items from customers.  Forward completed orders to shipping department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate physical condition and malfunction of potential repair opportunities with attention to detail and accurate troubleshooting, process development, and training.
  • Reduce the beyond repair percentage and achieve, maintain, and manage a steady pattern of consistency in this arena.
  • Develop and improve in house test capabilities and processes
  • Interface within house Production management and technical staff.
  • Maintain and exceed department requirements for incoming repair volume and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with outside vendors in the industry.
  • Direct contact with international customer base.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • GCSE Maths, Science and English (minimum: Grade 5/C).
  • Previous electrical/electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience or knowledge

Desirable:

  • BTEC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Previous technical training experience.

Required to bring own tools as specified by the hiring manager
